Summer Camp – Waffle Making! What toppings do you like on your waffles? Cooking is an excellent practical life activity that strengthens children’s fine motor and measuring skills, independence, problem-solving, and creativity. Each ingredient added in a recipe creates another level of difficulty when children try stirring the mixture together. This repetitive circular movement supports children’s future writing skills and athletic abilities by strengthening children’s muscles and manual dexterity. In case none of these benefits appeal to you, waffle making is just a really fun summertime activity to do with friends when it’s too hot to play outside or if your child has reached their screen-time limit for the day.
